“All compromise is based on give and take, but there can be no give and take on fundamentals. Any compromise on mere fundamentals is a surrender. For it is all give and no take.” — Mohandas Gandhi
Conviction seems to be something of the past — something you can probably read about in a history book. To me it is hard to find men and women of strong conviction; selling one’s beliefs for money, power, and/or position. More individuals each day are willing to compromise on their fundamentals to keep the peace or to avoid conflict, or worse, not saying a word. What fundamentals am I talking about? Our Christ-like values and principles. Our whole essence. Our core! There is too much compromise in the modern church. God does not compromise, and why as his children should we compromise on our faith/fundamental beliefs? Where is our conviction as followers of Christ? You cannot balance right and wrong. To compromise is to surrender on your Christ-like values and principles.
“A ‘No’ uttered from the deepest conviction is better than a ‘Yes’ merely uttered to please, or worse, to avoid trouble.” — Mohandas Gandhi
