I struggled a lot fighting my addiction to pornography, I tried everything… filters, blocking sites, and keeping my computer off at night. Nothing worked. My evil desire kept consuming me; I was rotting inside. I was trying to defeat an addiction on my own, and I couldn’t, until, of course, I allowed God break me. God broke me down, and showed me His mighty and great transforming love through His grace. He broke me and brought me down to my knees, and showed me that He is bigger than any internal problem. I just had to allow him to break me, that way He can take the broken pieces, and put them into the flame of grace, and mold me into a new creation. His love transformed me, and all I had to do was allow Him to break me.
Situations, addictions, etc., break us… and they leave us broken. However, God is different. He breaks, but He takes our broken pieces in our life and throws them into the flame of His unconditional love, and molds us into something new. (2 Corinthians 5:17) He doesn’t leave us broken. God will break you down, trust me, He broke me down hard, but I’m happy that I allowed Him to.
God is trying to do the same with you. He wants to transform you into something new, something truly beautiful; you just have to allow Him to break you. He wants to take you, and throw you into warmth of His love, and mold you. Just allow Him. You may be going through a situation that is breaking you, and causing a lot havoc in your life. But listen… God is right there to break you even more. Difference is, God is not going to leave you broken, He’s going to mold you and lift you up in glory!
“You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” – Ephesians 4:22-24
